Practical Module

Mediterranean mooring is a common docking technique used in areas where space is limited, such as crowded marinas. Instead of tying the boat alongside a quay, the vessel reverses toward the dock and secures its stern to the quay while dropping an anchor from the bow. This method allows more boats to fit into a smaller area because they are parked perpendicular to the dock rather than parallel.

However, it requires practice and good communication, as wind and currents can make maneuvering more challenging. This module teaches you the basics.
